Baby Room Ideas

Anticipation for my upcoming baby was through the roof!

I wanted to create a warm and inviting space for my little one that was safe, comfortable, and filled with thoughtful touches.

In this blog, I will share my experience of decorating the nursery and provide tips on how to make the most of your own creative vision.

With careful consideration of color, theme, and furniture, you can create a beautiful space for your little one that will feel safe and inviting at all times.

Setting The Tone

When it comes to decorating a nursery for your newborn, it’s important to choose the right style and paints. The nursery should be a safe and comfortable place for your baby to sleep, play and grow.

Choosing the right colors and themes can help create an inviting atmosphere that will stimulate a child’s imagination and creativity.

My husband and I LOVED the idea of having a stunning accent wall. So we painted the whole room white and chose a nice neutral green for the accent wall.

My amazing husband custom-made and installed the wood trim pieces to create the board and batten look we were going for.

Before we decided on board and batten for the accent wall, we were thinking of doing shiplap.

We landed on doing a board and batten accent wall, but we still liked the idea of having shiplap in the room. So we put it up on the ceiling instead!

We also installed can lights to make the room brighter and more inviting.

Furniture and Storage Options

Selecting the right furniture pieces for the room can help keep the nursery organized and provide plenty of storage space for babies many items.

Previously, the room had old squeaky accordion doors on the closet. We took those out and had an open concept for the closet.

I enjoy being able to see all of my baby’s cute clothes hung up, and the cube organizer adds a nice space for storage and decoration.

You can never have too much storage, and these baskets are ideal for organization.

I love books, and as a former preschool teacher I loved reading books to my class. I couldn’t wait to share my favorite books with my baby.

It was important to me to be able to have books available and accessible for my baby

My husband built these bookshelves as for a nice modern and neutral way to display baby’s books.

This simple dresser is perfect to fit all of baby’s needs! It is incredibly sturdy and has a lot of storage.

It also works as a changing table! This diaper changing pad is amazing. It has grips on the bottom so it doesn’t slide around on the dresser and easily wipes clean.

We chose this glider to fit in this narrow corner, and I liked the soft gray color that it added to the room.

The Final Touches

We decided on an airplane theme for the nursery (my husband loves planes, so it looks like my baby will too).

I found this incredibly cute mobile to hang above the crib. I love how well the colors pair with the rest of the room!

And of course, I had to have a mirror so I could view all the cute baby snuggles.

We added some corner shelves (that my amazing husband also built!) to give us more decoration options and for some warmth.

I am absolutely in love with how the nursery turned out. It is my favorite room in the house!

Now it is so fun to get to enjoy this room that we worked so hard on with my little baby! I am sure he will love it just as much as we do!

Creating the perfect baby nursery is a fun and rewarding experience.

With careful planning and consideration and research on the different baby room ideas, you can create a beautiful and safe space for your little one to enjoy.

By adding elements of warmth and comfort, you can ensure the nursery will be a cozy and secure place for your child.

Additionally, don’t forget to make it a unique reflection of their personality by adding special pieces that they will love.
